Hood Hundred

August 3-4, 2024

Crew

There are 9 crew accessible aid stations along the course (reference the support chart), plus the Start and Finish at Mt. Hood Meadows, all available along well-maintained paved roads, ranging from 5-30 minutes drive from the Start/Finish area.

Crew Guide:

A detailed Crew Guide document will be linked here by February 1st for download as an offline reference, which will include driving directions to each aid station.

Crew Rules:

We are all part of the trail running community and want to support each other as much as possible. However, crew/pacers/supporters are expected to be self-contained, self-reliant and respectful of others and the forest environment. This means meeting all of the following expectations:

  • Aid Station supplies and medical resources are for race participants only (except for medical emergencies obviously)

  • Crew must follow all race rules and instructions from event staff, volunteers, medical staff, Mt. Hood Meadows staff, Forest Service, etc.

  • Come prepared to take care of your own needs (food, water, clothing, batteries, chargers, gas, etc.)

  • Drive and park efficiently and courteously

  • Clean up/pack out ALL of your own stuff, including garbage

  • Be informed and have a plan for navigation to aid stations, communications, garbage disposal, bathrooms (the woods is not acceptable), etc., BEFORE arriving.

  • Bring a reliable vehicle— we do not have the capacity to assist with car trouble and lack of fuel/electricity

Pacers

Pacers are allowed to accompany their runner beginning at Underhill Aid Station (#8) at mile 54.7 (refer to the support chart above). Pacers may join their runner, swap with another pacer, or drop from pacing at any aid station where pacers are allowed.

Pacer Rules:

  • Must sign a waiver on race day to obtain and wear a “pacer” race bib while on course. Pacer bibs are available during pre-race bib pickup times on Friday before the race or on race morning at the start line area, from 6AM-8AM after the racers have departed.

  • Only ONE pacer at a time may accompany one race participant.

  • No carrying or assisting in carrying a runner’s equipment, hydration, fuel or other items (muling).

  • Pacers may access hydration and nutrition at the aid stations, but are expected to be as self-reliant as possible.

  • On your own getting to/from pacing your runner on course. No race-provided shuttles available.

  • Must follow all other rules of the race or risk disqualifying their runner.

Drop Bags

Drop bags will be available at 6 aid stations at 4 different physical locations (refer to the support chart above). Bennett Pass and Surveyors are passed twice and the same drop bag shall be utilized at those locations. Drop bags requirements:

  • SIZE: Drop bag size must be smaller than a 20L day bag (shoe box size), made of durable, water-resistant material. Bags that are too large will not be accepted and will not go the requested aid station.

  • LABEL: Write your bib number and aid station name in large bold permanent ink on your drop bags.

  • RETURN: Please consider that drop bags will not be returned back to your race staging area until the aid station shuts down after race sweepers arrive. Have your crew grab your drop bags from the aid station if possible.

  • CONTENTS: Do not store valuables in drop bags! The race is not responsible for missing, damaged, lost or stolen drop bags or contents.

  • FORGOTTEN BAGS: Please note we do not ship or deliver forgotten drop bags. You can arrange to pick up forgotten drop bags from us if we have them.
