Hood Hundred

August 3-4, 2024

Meet your Course Directors!

In addition to Daybreak’s own Race Directors Jeremy Long and Aaron Long, Hood Hundred has a rockstar team of Course Directors helping with race production. Each team member brings a wealth of 100 mile race experience with them. Let’s meet the team!

Philippe Boutros

Philippe grew up competing in track and XC events in Lebanon, but he didn't discover trail running until he moved to Portland, Oregon for college. Since falling in love with racing trails at his first ultra (Gorge Waterfalls, '16—now a Daybreak race!), Philippe has competed in over 25 ultras (including Mountain Lakes 100, Leadville 100, and IMTUF 100), as well as dozens of sub-ultra distances.

Philippe's running accomplishments include winning Trailfest 14k, setting the Crown Z FKT, and getting DQ'd from a PBR-sponsored beer mile for puking more than once. He lives with his wife Sydney and their dog Lily—the Siuslaw Dunes 50k canine course record-holder—in Boise, Idaho, where you can them running in the foothills.

Danielle Snyder

Danielle began her running career at the youthful age of 13 with her mother. In 2013, she dipped her toes (in mud) at her first trail run in upstate New York and has not stopped since! In fact, her love of trail running brought her to the mountain west.  Since 2013, she has run and won numerous trail races, with distances ranging from half-marathons to 100 milers. She also dabbles (crushes) in multi-day adventures including running the Oregon section of the PCT (450+ miles) and the Kokopelli trail (140+ miles).

Professionally,  Danielle is a Certified Running Coach and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive additional training in mindset coaching, life coaching, yoga and meditation. Danielle works with countless professional athletes and Olympians.  She specializes in helping athletes of all abilities avoid the pitfalls of negative self-talk, so that they can find balance on the trail and bring that into all parts of their lives.

Colton Gerhart

Despite growing up in rugged northern Pennsylvania, Colton has been a longtime mainstay of the Pacific NW's trail racing scene. Colton spent years working on races all across Washington and Oregon, as well as touring the west coast to help host the Trail Running Film Festival. He's partnered with Daybreak since 2019.

Colton has a long list of trail running accomplishments under his belt; to date, he has completed ten 100 milers, earning belt buckles from all across the PNW, Alabama, South Dakota, and Utah; he finished Fat Dog 120 with a smile on his face; perhaps most impressively, he won the Boise Trail Challenge by running 220 miles in 6 days while working a full time job. Colton lives with his husband Wade in Boise, ID, where you can find them running or skiing across the wilderness.

Mack Robertson

Mack is a Portland, Oregon area native with a variety of talents, skills and trail running experience. He studied music in college and has taught guitar for the last decade. Since diving into trail and ultrarunning, he has completed several 100 miles races including Western States, Wasatch and Cascade Crest. The Hood Hundred course features some of Mack’s absolute favorite trails in the Pacific NW and he’s excited to help all the runners reach their 100 mile goals.

Mack trains extensively in Forest Park, the Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood areas and continues to inspire us with his quick witted humor, can-do attitude and tireless work ethic. He resides in Portland with his wife Theresa and their dog Cassie.

Yassine Diboun

Does Yassine really need much introduction? With his famously friendly demeanor, infectious smile and positivity, Yassine has been an influential leader in the trail running sport for over 15 years, both as an athlete and coach. Since 2008 Yassine has made his presence felt in the competitive ultra-running scene, including well over a dozen 100 mile finishes including HURT, Hardrock and Western States. He has also realized there is much more to trail running than trying to clock the fastest times. He loves the camaraderie and laid-back enjoyment of experiencing nature with friends and supporting the sport and its community as much as possible.

Yassine resides close to the trails in Portland, Oregon with his wife Erica and daughter Farah. He is co-owner of long-time sponsor Wy’east Wolfpack, as well as being a Wilderness First Responder, and certified in Adult/Child CPR, AED & Airway Management.
